Join the AMC

We require a minimum competency in either rock climbing or hillwalking to join the club.  Our meets are organised with this standard in mind. The minimum competencies are:

A person who can second a sport or trad climb and belay for a lead climber.

and/or

​

A person who can hillwalk in a group of equals without any supervision.

We also ask that you have a clear understanding of the following BMC Participation Statement:​

The BMC recognises that these activities involve a risk of personal injury or death. Participants should be aware of and accept these risks and be responsible for their own actions and impacts on others. »
